Voice Mail Instructions
Complete voicemail instructions are below. All students are encouraged to record your own internal, external
greetings and personal verification. Remember you will keep your telephone number and associated voice mailbox for 4
years. If/when you change rooms your phone number and voicemail number will always follow you and remain the same
from year to year.
To Check Your Voice Mail Messages:
From on-campus: Dial 3737
From off-campus: Dial 508-531-3737
- Enter your 4 digit voice mailbox number, press # (this is the last 4 digits of your phone number)
- Enter your 6 digit password, press # (this password is the last 6 digits of your BSU Connect Card)

While listening to your messages you have the following options:
- Press [76] to delete the message and go to the next
- Press [6] to go to the next message without deleting
- Press [#] to pause the message
- Press [2] to continue listening
- Press [1] to skip back a few words
- Press [3] to skip forward a few words
- Press [9] to call back the sender of the voicemail (on-campus only)
- Press [73] to forward the message to another voice mailbox
- Enter the voice mailbox number to which you want to forward the message, then press [#]
- Press [5] and record your message
- Press [79] to forward the message - (recipient will hear your message along with the forwarded
message)

To Record Your Voice Mail Greeting:
From on-campus: Dial 3737
From off-campus: Dial 508-531-3737
- Enter your mailbox number, press #
- Enter your password, press #
- Press [82]
- Press [1] for External (greeting heard by off-campus callers)
- Press [2] for Internal (greeting heard by on-campus callers)
- You will be prompted to enter a new greeting
- Press [#] to end recording
- Press [2] to play the greeting you just recorded

To Record Your Personal identification
When you leave a message, on an on-campus voice mailbox, it states your name. All students are encouraged to
record one.
From on-campus: Dial 3737
From off-campus: Dial 508-531-3737
- Press [82]
- Press [5] to record your name
- Press [#] to stop recording
- Press [2] to listen to your recorded name

To Change Your Voice Mail Password:
From on-campus dial 3737
From off-campus dial 508-531-3737
- Enter your mailbox number, press #
- Enter your password, press #
- Press [84]
- You will be prompted to enter a new password

Express Messaging
Express Messaging is a fast method of leaving a message in another voice mailbox without having to call a person
and hope that they do not answer.
From on-campus dial 3738
From off-campus dial 508-531-3738
- Enter the mailbox number of the person for whom you are leaving the message, then press [#]
- Record you message, at the tone
- Hang up
