Sophos Troubleshooting
Problem 1:
- If when you are installing Sophos' newest version you come across an error that looks like:
This is a result of a conflict with the new version of Webroot
Spysweeper. To fix this you need to uninstall Webroot Spysweeper through add/remove programs in the control
panel. If the remove option is not in add/remove programs see Remove Webroot below. To
avoid any future prolems with Webroot install this recommended program Ad-aware SE
Problem 2:
- If when you are done installing Sophos and the
icon will not stay open in the
task bar, simply uninstall Sophos from add/remove programs in the control panel. Then uninstall Webroot (instructions below). Then Reboot your computer and install sophos. To avoid any future prolems with Webroot install
this recommended program Ad-aware SE
- To remove Webroot Spysweeper click remove and save SSECleanup.zip to a
known location on your computer.
- Once downloaded open the folder SSECleanup.zip then double-click the file SSECleanup.exe in the folder
SSECleanup.zip.
- At this time a Window will pop up. Once this happens wait until the window closes itself. Once the window
closes Webroot Spysweeper will be removed from the computer.
