Internet Service

Internet service is provided through a connection to the Bridgewater State University Network. A high-speed data line connects the college backbone to the outside world. This service provides a faster connection to the Internet than a modem. It allows access to popular tools like the World Wide Web, FTP, e-mail and more.

System Requirements

To receive full support from the ResNet staff, computers must meet the following specifications:

  • Processor: 2Ghz
  • Memory: 2GB
  • Hard Drive: 80GB
  • External Ports: (2) USB 2.0, VGA
  • Operating System*: Windows® XP, Windows® Vista, Windows® 7, MAC OSX
  • Network Adapter: 10/100 Ethernet
  • Wireless Network Adapter: Integrated 802.11 b/g, WPA Certified

All computers not meeting this standard, or having a different Operating System will receive one hour of ResNet support. If the ResNet staff have worked on the computer for one hour and the issue has not been resolved, the user will need to get assistance from a commercial repair facility, such as those listed below.
