Configuring Wireless for Mac OS X

Wireless Internet access is available to all Bridgewater students, including those who use a Mac. Mac OS X v10.3 "Panther" (or later) is required to access the wireless network because of our use of 802.1x Authentication.

Step 1

In System Preferences under the Network panel make sure that AirPort's TCP/IP tab is set to Using DHCP as shown below.

Step 2

Click the Airport icon located in the top right-hand corner of your screen and select BSCUnplugged.

Select BSC Unplugged

Step 3

In the AirPort window, enter your BSC username and password in the appropriate fields. 802.1X Configuration should be set to Automatic. If you do not want to be prompted for your BSC password each time you connect, check Remember password in my keychain. Select OK.

Enter Credentials

Step 4

Next the Verify Certificate window will appear. Select the Show Certificate button and select the checkbox next to Always trust these certificates. This is to ensure you are not prompted to accept the certificate each time you access the wireless network. Click the Continue button.

Verify Certificate

Step 5

After authentication is complete, open your web browser and you will be re-directed to the following page where you will need to enter your BSC username and password. Click Continue.

Step 6

You are now connected to the wireless network! If you have any questions, please contact IT Support Services at 508-531-2555 or via email at itsupport@bridgew.edu.
